The Shoemaker's Child Has No Shoes...

I've heard that phrase so many times and finally really 'get it'!  You would think that being married to a dentist, it would be a MUST to make it in for regular cleanings/exams, right?   Wrong.  I hate to admit it, but it's been well over a year since my last hygiene appointment.  And to add to that, at my last appointment I was informed that I had 2 fillings that I needed to have done.  (Yes, I do get cavities!  It's that darn sweet tooth!)  In all fairness, the cavities are around some really large, old fillings.  Well....I finally made it in today for a cleaning and turns out those 'fillings' I was supposed to get last year have worsened and will end up having to be crowns.  Yes, 2 Crowns.  I always took pride in the fact that I didn't have any crowns in my mouth.  Oh well, I guess all things must come to an end!

And to add to phrases, 'good things come in 3's'!!

Olivia also had her first appointment with Daddy!  She had her cleaning a few weeks ago with Beth (our awesome hygienist) and did so great, but turns out she got her mom's sweet tooth and had a teeny tiny 'sticky' spot that Dan only had to touch with his drill.  No numbing needed.  She did Great!  In fact, she didn't close her mouth once, not even for the suction!  Cute girl.  As for the 3 part.....KJ also had a filling done today.  Why not get it all done at once right!  Jack was the only one of us with a perfect check-up!

So here's a reminder to everyone......go brush and floss!

This is how Jack 'sits' in the dental chair.  (Notice the trains in each hand!)
Hey, whatever works, right?!

It takes a great Grandma to be a Great Grandma...

~Oleta May Ball~

I had the opportunity to go to Boise this past weekend for the funeral of my Great-Grandma.  Oleta May Ball was 94 years young!  This was a bittersweet weekend.  It's always sad to say an 'earthly' goodbye to someone you love; but knowing where she is, I know she's happy.  It was good to see all the family who gathered together to celebrate the life of this amazing lady.  She was lucky enough to live a long and very healthy life.  It was fun to hear a lot of her life's stories that I hadn't ever heard before.  Stories of travel, running off to get married at 15 years old, countless acts of service, getting her first and only speeding ticket at age 90, keeping an AMAZING garden into her 90's (mmm....my mouth is watering just thinking of all her berry bushes), selling her 'famous' loaves of bread for up to $85/loaf, only having to go to the Doctor 2 times in her life (once was for the birth of her daughter, which only cost $5.  And that covered a whole week in the hospital!), fulfilling her life-long dream of meeting Bob Barker and being on the Price is Right at age 92, and lots more!  In the last few days before her passing, the doctors asked her what medications she was on and she told them that the only thing she had ever taken was some iron a few years back.  They laughed and told her that she had such a long and healthy life because she had stayed away from Doctors and hospitals!  We will miss her spunky personality, quick wit, funny sense of humor, and getting those beautifully hand written letters in the mail.  She left behind 159 Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren!  What an amazing legacy she has left behind.  I know she's happy to be reunited with her handsome hubby and she's smiling down on all of us!  Grandma....you will be missed.

"God Be With You Till We Meet Again..."
This was the last picture I had with her.  Jack was just a baby.  It's great because it shows 5 generations!  I think that's a pretty rare and lucky thing!

Here are some pictures from the day of the funeral service.

This was taken last Christmas!  Isn't she so cute!?  She wanted to sit on Santa's lap!

Today was KJ's first little league game!  All I can say is that baseball fields and spring allergies do not mix well!
Other than that.....GO KJ!
This is the commercial I had running thru my head....
"PICNIC DINNER FOR THE KIDS......$10.00"

"ALLERGY EYE DROPS......$8.00"

"KJ HITTING THE FIRST PITCH OF HIS FIRST GAME.....PRICELESS!"

Easter Day!

We had a wonderful Easter today.  It was especially fun this year to watch the kids.  They all 'get' the whole Easter Bunny, egg hunt idea this year!  Kids seem to make holidays so much more gratifying.  We went to church and KJ gave a wonderful talk all by himself, we were SO proud.  I always love to listen to the talks on Easter Sunday as it is a reminder of Jesus Christ and all he's done for me and my family.  We are so grateful for the atonement and resurrection in our lives.  Holidays are so commercial, so it is great to worship and remember what the day really is all about.  We hope everyone had a great day today!  Here are some more Easter shots.  (I know, I know, I am super 'snap-shot' happy, but I never want to miss those sweet moments.)

All dressed up in their Sunday best!

I love having a girl, it's fun playing dress-up!

The kids are so lucky to have Dan as their Dad!

This was after one of the egg hunts in our house!  They are really hyped up on sugar!
Jack loves his 'Yo-Gabba-Gabba' wig and glasses that the Easter Bunny brought!
Here's a video of how he's been acting all day!

Twas' the day before....Easter?

Here are some pictures we took of our 'pre-Easter' day festivities!  It was a great day, now if only the kids can get off their sugar high before tomorrow, when they'll be on a whole new sugar high!! Happy Easter to all our Family and Friends.  Love you all!
(We'll be adding more pics tomorrow, so stay tuned)
We went to an Easter Egg Hunt at a friend's house!  KJ and Liv loved looking for the eggs.  Jack on the other hand, was in heaven because they have this train that goes around their huge backyard.  He stayed on that rather than doing the egg hunt, he could have cared less about the eggs!
Their backyard is a kids paradise.  KJ loved doing the zip-line!  Our backyard is officially BORING!
This is how we found Jack and Olivia when we got home.  Scarfing all their candy from the hunt.  I just let them go right on ahead, because they were actually getting along AND sharing, which is rare around here!

We are trying curlers in Olivia's hair tonight for the 1st time, we'll see if they stay in till morning for church.  She's a wiggly sleeper, so who knows.?  It was so much fun, and she thinks the 'pink rolls' are so cute!  Go to sleep little one, the Easter Bunny is on his way!

Twins fan & Drama Queen....

Today was Keaton's first day of Little League PeeWee baseball!  This was a long time coming because we had to sign up back in January and so we've heard the question, "when does baseball start?" for months now.  The time has finally arrived!  He did great for his first practice.  This year he is playing with pitching instead of a Tee.  Tonight he hit 3 out of the 5 pitches.  It was also a bonus that 4 of his friends from school are on the same team with him, made his nerves melt away when he saw his buddy Jack there!  It will be a fun season.  Who knew that Dan (a die hard Cardinals fan) would ever be rooting for the Twins!?  He has his first game next week and I'll be sure to keep you updated on his 'stats'.  On our bike ride home he asked me when he'll start getting paid to play ball!  I said, "I hope sooner than later"!
As for the Drama Queen part.....just look at the pictures!
Stretching~ (That's his buddy Jack)

Look at my little stud muffin!

This is little miss Drama Queen, glaring and mad cause she couldn't go out on the field and play.
This is how she wears Keaton's helmet!  And don't try to tell her otherwise, she doesn't want it fixed.  It's her way or the highway.  Girls sure do get an attitude early, she's only 2 for goodness sakes!
