Viva Las Vegas...

It's the night (technically the morning of) before the little ones start school and I'm the one too nervous to sleep.  It's the same feeling I used to get every year before I, myself, started school.  My nerves kick in and I get all worry-wart-ish.  What better way to forget about my anxiety than to type away and look at pictures of my fabulous weekend in Vegas.  I got home last night just in time to get ready for the new school year.  It was just the perfect little adult only get-a-way that I needed to be refreshed and ready for the new year.  I went from smoke clouds in the casinos to the smoke clouds of Boise.  Man, this has been one nasty fire season for the Western US.  Reality really kicked in when I started my car to head home and the Muppet's Soundtrack was blasting on the radio.
Yep, my kid-free vacation was officially over!

It is 'back to life...back to reality'.  *I know you just sang that song in your head, didn't you?!*
I've finally convinced myself that these types of quick weekend get-a-ways are crucial to my sanity.  Laugh all you want, it's the truth.  I was one step away from the loony bin.  No lie.

I forgot to get my camera out of my luggage the whole first day and I WASN'T going back to the hotel when there was so much to see and do in Vegas.  My phone battery was also dead, so I don't have any proof of our first day and night there.  Let's just say, I should have worn my comfy heels.  I started the trip off with blisters on my big toes, not good.  By the end of the night we had walked so much I went to the store just to buy a pair of comfy flip flops.  :)   We saw the Blue Man Group.  I'm not quite sure how the show has been playing so long.  I was really underwhelmed.  It was loud and a bit obnoxious and I really didn't see the humor.  But who knows, maybe it was because I was tired?  It is pretty hard to find a show I don't enjoy.  I am usually easy to please, but I thought it was a waste of time and money.  :)  Next time we'll see something a little different.

Anyway... we ate lots of yummy food... saw lots of crazy stuff... ran in to some old friends from Bend on the strip (small world)... walked a lot... People watched... sweat a lot... met people at a work party... danced... shopped or rather window shopped at ridiculously expensive stores... laughed a lot... and slept very few hours.  It was a success!  I think Vegas should be a yearly trip!  We crammed a lot in, but still didn't get to do everything we had wanted.

Here are some of our Vegas Daytime pictures...

Here is Vegas at night...

Wish me luck tomorrow sending ALL 3 KIDS TO SCHOOL, I'm gonna need it.
