Yes...she's doing exactly what you think she's doing....

This morning I was making oatmeal for breakfast and looked out the window to find this-

I mean, we are working on potty training...but come on!

Do you think she needs a sister or what?!

What a Spectacle.....

Yep, it's true, my little 'hyper fire-ball' now wears glasses. Jack had a preschool screening about a week ago and failed both his hearing and vision tests. :( The hearing test was failed due to double ear infections which are now all cleared up! But after his Eye Doctor appointment we found out that he is extremely far sighted. Poor kid has such bad vision. It never crossed my mind that he would need glasses because both Dan and I have great vision and neither of us wear glasses. Now the trick is to get him to keep them on! Anyone who knows Jack knows that it will be a challenge. I was so sad at first, but now I just think he looks super cute! And if it'll help him developmentally, it'll be SO worth it! We now think he looks like our little scientist!

(Dan and I always have a fun time in Portland!)

We also make the trek to Oregon last weekend to give Dan the week off from driving! The kids absolutely love going back to visit. It was a busy weekend and as usual, went way too fast! We got there Friday night, left Saturday morning for Portland and stayed the night there, then went back to Bend Sunday night, and finally, drove back to Boise Monday afternoon! Phewww....I'm tired just thinking about it! I keep thinking that we'll come for a visit to Bend when we can actually see and hang out with old friends! Hopefully soon!! We miss lots of you guys.

As soon as we walk thru the hotel room door, the kids automatically go for the beds! I think it's because they know it's forbidden at home! I remember doing the same thing as a kid, so I can't get too mad! Plus, look how much fun they are having!

And of course, we had to make a stop at the OMSI museum. This was the kids favorite part of the weekend! Well, this and the hotel swimming pool! My favorite picture is of the kids looking at the big dinosaur Sampson and Jack is climbing over the wall right over the sign that says DO NOT CLIMB! Yes, our kids, at times, are out-of-control!

Stage mom.....for just one night!

We had our first recital ever! It was a fun way to spend a really cold Saturday night! Olivia is in a beginning ballet class and KJ is in an all boys breakdancing class called the Dance Dawgs! They both LOVE it! We had lots of laughs and were so proud of the two of them for getting on that BIG stage and performing in front of lots of people!

Waiting in the green room!

Our little star!

They did a 'Teddy Bear' routine....hence the brown ears and dress!

Her cute class (minus Lexi)

--And for the Dance Dawgs--
My camera WOULD NOT focus when KJ did his little solo, so this is the only one I snapped of him. He was getting ready to go down into his spin.

Yes, they teach them to spin on their heads!

Take a bow boys!

We had lots of family that were able to make it to see our little munchkins!

Aunt Coley and Aunt Britt

And what recital would be complete without a stop at DairyQueen!?!

Oh bananas....

Almost everyday I send a banana to school in KJ's lunch and almost every day he comes back with an empty lunch box except for the banged-up and bruised banana! This is okay, except for the fact that I try hard to make sure there is a small note for him written on the banana. I know, it's weird, but my mom did it for us as kids and I still remember how much I loved it! Now, it may be because I was a girl, but I always felt special when I read the note on my banana from my mom. So, I asked KJ if he read my notes and he said, "sometimes, but I don't like bananas".
So today I had a new idea for once!! I made fortune cookies that I can put his notes in. (found the recipe on allrecipes.com) So maybe he'll actually read them and his friends might even think it's cool this way! They were actually super easy and fun to make. I made enough for the whole week in no time at all. And they fit perfectly in the little snack sized zip-lock bags. I just thought I'd share this simple idea for all those moms out there looking for something different! And feel free to send any other ideas my way!

Sending good luck and good fortune to you all!!!
